I found INSILICO after a long journey exploring the vastness of SL virtual worlds. It was love at first sight considering the range of quality in sims, from just plain awful to jaw-dropping. I am happy to have found this home far from home.
In 1st life I am a web designer and student who dabbles in varies degrees of interactive multimedia, scripting and animation. My favorite past times are exploring and climbing a tree in a thunderstorm. Originally from New Mexico I am use to scripting from when I was a little kid and my father would force me to crunch endless strings of code from magazines for him.
Do you have any roleplaying experience & if so please give a little background.
Traditionally I run roleplaying games both in tabletop setting and chat setting. I have hosted a NWN roleplay server as well as created my own homebrew systems. In general I have become unsatisfied with the whole MMORPG market in such that I found it wanting in true role-playing finesse. The Sims online was the closest I have come to playing a true RPG environment and it wasn’t that very good. So as stated before INSILICO was <3 at first sight and I am here to stay.
Stark is part of an organization known as 47 Ronin, who are an independent mercenary group representing guns for hire throughout the fringe. Often found employed by the shadier organizations. While remaining cryptic their services rendered range from security, protection, espionage and cleaning. While little is truly known of this independent organization Stark is currently the only active member within the boundaries of INSILICO that is known.
Living in the fringe of a flooded world, riddled with small independent communities, proved to take its toll on Stark as a young lad. Both seeking for his father approval and competing with his brother, pushed him to mature at a young age. His mother while nurturing left one day on a voyage to another island in the hopes of finding her parents. She was lost at sea and Starks father went mad with not knowing what had happened to her and went out looking for her, leaving his two children to fend for themselves. Their family was close in the small community and it wasn’t long before Stark himself took up work in his father’s role as a member of the Ronin who were hired to protect and serve the various organizations on the island.
His brother believing in local doctrine took refuge and sought solace within the confines of a monastery. While Stark eager to explore found himself taking contracts farther and farther away from their community. It wasn’t until he decided to locate his father that his world took a turn. Leaving his village and conducting contracts abroad proved almost to be his downfall as he fell in love with one of his clients who proceeded to manipulate and use him. He performed unspeakable deeds of murder and espionage in the name of what he thought was love. It wasn’t until the illusion was broken when his client tried to finish him off when his contract was completed. Refusing to go down the situation ended in Stark killing the only woman he loved and fled from the fringe. Seeking solace and following a lead he was able to spend all his credits to obtain a charted flight to INSILICO in a hope of washing his past clean and finding the whereabouts of his father. This is where his true adventure begins.
I often wonder at times, if it’s still considered a game when it makes you feel the heights of elation or when if drags you through the gutters of despair. Like a good movie or a good book, where you become emotionally invested into a character. When you cannot help but feel the suspense of a moment or the draw of a forbidden kiss.
Through our alter egos we express, invest and caress an image of ourselves. Perhaps in Freudian terms it would be a clear cu… Continue
Hi Stark, welcome!
I see your background encompasses a merc group!
If you plan to roleplay regularly in INSILICO and want to establish your merc group contact me. We might add it then to the wiki.
LOL Perri I'm the worst of them all. I played TS1 and TS2 for 9 years. Have yet to install TS3 but you know I bought the collector's edition just for the plumbob usb drive...I'm a pacifist gamer all the way, baby.

I agree, MMORPG's should really be called MMOG's, and TSO was terrible (of course, I only played the beta...)
I confess to time in TSO. Pacifist gamers gotta try it all.
