BACKGROUND:

As i was born i faced an earth quite devoid of life. Most places were destroyed and the planet itself
suffered on its history of failed humanity and nuclear war. I must have been lucky as i
actually was born here and survived all this wasteland and its dangers. Though, i'd rather stay
dead then come to life. Born human, my life never has been easy. Ancient word was
written: "What does not kill you makes you stronger". Easy said if you have the strength of a piece of
paper compared to most "Homo Sapiens". Due to a genetic anomaly my body was gaunt and pale. So i suffered my whole life being the target of derision. Though my days have changed. I got to know the
advantages of my body. This mutation mostly effects my eyes and my skin. Both can't deal
with the daylight on earth. That forced me to live nearly always by night, since my view at night is more
than excellent. Where most humans fail to see, my day begins. This ability and my gaunt shape made me an almost perfect deal for some suspicious individuals, working in those mining facilities on earth. I learned pretty fast to work for my own good, though loyality sometimes offers a great benefit, as my future will show.

Due to my life of 18 years in the wastelands of earth, I made my self a nick, "SnakeRunner". Quick, unseen in the dark of night, I made my living spying on other corporation mining operation on earth. Selling and delivering of information i made my job. Here and there i had some assassinations of foremen from more competetive corporations.

Though i can't remember my Parents i do remember almost every day i had with this stranger who came from the sky one day. He has worn this all black in black outfit that seemed to be made of some sort of synthetic fabric, though a hard, well protecting armor. He had all kinds of GenTec improved implants, a mask and even goggles. He woren two Katana as weapons, and of course he knew to use them. I have never again seen one who fought with blades against criminals with auto fire weapons. His speed was just unbelievable. Almost unseen motion made him take advantage of his enemies. Later in time i got to know his secret. He was human just like me, but he had a different genetic anomaly and was enhanced by highly improved biological modifications.

He took me into one of those Megacities and i became introduced to some kind of a Syndicate, the Yuushim. The "Yuushim" actually were a crime organisation which had their fingers into everything that
happened in the Underground of the City "Shadat". It was said that this Syndicate was lead and run by humans with gentic anomalies of all kind. Though they weren't much, their influences along other Syndicates and the MegaCorporations running the City were enormous and fed by fear. They got what they wanted or in the next minute you just saw your home, your family or even whole districts of the City under torture, terror and unthinkable chaos - not to mention the point of just being plain dead!! So those leaders of the City "Shadat" did not really have a choice but to accept the law of the "Yuushim".

As mentioned, i was brought into this Syndicate not without reason. It was because they only recruited
humans with genetic anomalies as their employees. Not without reason. As one can imagine, someone who has been treated bad in his life and grew up almost on his own is a different kind of a human. Hard, without emotion, most effective and of course not controlable. The "Yuushim" actually established a highly educated company of GenTec and Implant Engineers. The reason behind this was just as simple as you can imagine.

If you hire this kind of "freelancer" you have to make sure to keep their loyality. So you provide them with nothing less but the best of course. The best biological enhancements, the best implants, best weapons and of course only the finest drugs & gurls as well as a most fitting apartment. This all has to be paid somehow.

So as the "Yuushim" forced their scientists to explore and improve the Tec-Level of Implant Technologies and biological enhancements in the last 200 years, they missed the point of investigation into the construction of those Megacities, floating beyond that ozone layer. But well educated and trained to use their biological advantages, the enhanced generations of "The YUUSHIM" have established themself first as leaders and coordinators for the well-observed miningoperations on the planets surface. Then, as they made their way into the Megacity of "Shadat", they established the first and only Syndicate in that city:

"The Yuushim".

Now, like 50 years after their founding, i was brought into the Yuushim, of course due to their 200 years history the "Yuushim" not always were called like that. As my mentor found me, he taught me the difference between us and the ordinary human. He taught me our ethics and moralities and that our goal has to be to bring peace back on earth and free this planet from its sickness.

I found myself in the middle of a war between rivaling Syndicates and Corporations of floating Megacities. One of the major tactics to destroy your enemy is to weaken its core. All kinds of "Drugs" were supplied to influence both sides, biological being and cybernetic creations. Bring them into addiction, and you got them by their balls. This was the philosophy of the "Yuushim".

I made an excellent living all these years until i turned 26. The radiation on the planets surface i had to deal with in my early years took effect. I became ill with cancer and was told I would survive only the next 5 months. First time of my life i felt weak and sad. I never have been confronted with the possibillity of death that open in my life. Due to my high interest in staying alive somehow and of course my knowledge about the high technologies of the "Yuushim" i had to make a decision. Even my mentor took ahold of me and promised me all support he could afford.
