I dont know if this is will work for you, but try downloading iTunes, set up an account, and then visit the app store from there. I dont think you'll need an iPod or iPhone for that.

How did you hear about Insilico?

I found it by randomly exploring Second Life.

A little info about yourself if you'd be so kind?

Name: Mist Navarathna
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Race: Siraei
Age: Currently unknown (appears to be early twenties)

Profession: Diner cook and freelance bodyguard/bouncer
Talents/Hobbies: Fighting, strategic planning, collecting weapons.
Faction: None/neutral

Personality: A kind person by nature, Mist is quick to help those in need and protect those needing protection. He highly enjoys a fight, but never goes looking for one, unless of course it is a sparring match. Mist tends to not say much, although he will occasionally have periods of energetic joy and excitement. He usually doesn't initiate conversation, but wont shy away one if one comes around.

Backstory:
Mist Navarathna woke up confused and dazed in a back alley next to a diner in INSILICO. He had no memory of himself or his past and his only clues were a piece of paper that says "Welcome to INSILICO, Mist Navarathna", strange writing on his left shoulder, and an unknown man dressed in a black hooded robe. A kind diner worker finds Mist in a back alley and offers him food and a place to sleep. However, over time he begins to realize not everyone is as kind. Each night brings Mist closer to understanding who he is and what happened in his past. Each dream is but fragments of missing memories, slowly returning to him.
One day, Mist meets the strange hooded man again. The man uncloaks himself and to Mist's surprise, the man looked like him. Pale blue eyes, light skin, dark hair, and a slender but powerful and tone body. The man reveals himself to be Joachim, a fellow Siraei.
After having a rather long converstion, it is revealed to Mist that his missing memories were the result of a genetic exeriment. The Siraei are an artificialy created race of homo sapiens with the purpose of having far greater abilities than their regular human counterparts. The Siraei once branched away from humans and went into hiding. Although virtually the same on a species level, they are gentically more powerful. Joachim managed to escape the laboratory before any "environmental" experiments were done on him. These environmental experiments were to test how the regular human population would react to a "genetically superior being" in their midst. Mist's missing memories were to provide a control so that the regular humans would find out themselves. His memories will slowly come back to him over time, and they've nearly completely returned.
Joachim explains that he must leave the city and advises Mist to do the same.

Do you have any roleplaying experience & if so please give a little background.

None other than INSILICO. I honestly dont think im very good. I feel im lacking creativity, but ill probably get better over time.

Ambush

Two men stood over a bridge as Mist ponders the day while sitting on a bench. Their cold stares finally become noticed. Seeking better solitude, Mist quietly walks down the desolate and abandoned city streets until he finds an old church, occupied only by cobwebs, windows broken. Mist takes a seat in one of the center pews and relaxes his mind.

A Higher Purpose

Its been about a month since Mist remembers finding himself lying on the ground, confused and dased, in a back alley. Not a clue where he was or even why he was. His memories have slowly returned. Whether or not this was intended by SiraeiaTech, he still doesnt know if they are even constantly monitoring him. Surely they would have done something after another one of their experiments revealed the secret. Regardless, this is Mist's home. For now.
